Free Verse Friday: Mentally Tapped

A thoughtful Black woman sits at a wooden desk, writing in a notebook while resting her head in one hand. A mug reading "Protect My Peace," a lit candle labeled "Toxicity Must Be Banned," and stacked books titled "Focus," "Growth," and "Healing" surround her, creating a quiet, reflective atmosphere illuminated by warm candlelight.

This Week’s Free Verse Friday

Write how you feel without filters. Write fast and unapologetically.

Mentally Tapped

My mental capacity is blocked.
Too much complaining.
Too many things that can't be changed.
Too much self-destruction.
Too many empty words lingering in the air.
They suffocate with a high-pitched frequency.
Exhausted from seeing your faces.
Sleep is a distant memory.
This toxicity must be banned.
My mental capacity is blocked.
