Unexpected Free Verse Friday
This Free Verse Friday was unexpected. While about to write my response to my Prompt Friday, this poem said no I need to be written now. It came fast and was emotionally heavy. It didn’t ask for permission; it just showed up. I really love this poem.
Who Knew She Would Bloom
It was a rarity that she bloomed.
Stuck in a decaying-like orbit.
Spinning on an axle that will soon break.
Thrown out to be devoured.
To never again be whole.
The flame dancing around her like a greedy insult.
She walked through the flame and let everything shatter at her feet.
It was in that rarity that she bloomed.
