Intro

Will artificial intelligence make you obsolete? Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a topic of much debate and concern, especially among creative individuals like writers, artists, and designers. Many fear that AI may replace them in their respective fields, but it’s important to experience and understand AI before jumping to conclusions. I am a creative individual and always wanted to be proud of my work. I am a techie at heart and always welcome new technology in the way to improve human life and make processes quicker and more efficient when I am creating. In this blog post, I’ll share my journey with AI, from skepticism to acceptance, and how it can be a valuable tool for creatives.

Skepticism

My first impression of AI was instantly meant with disdain. I thought AI would replace me as a writer and designer. Horror stories about AI “ripping off” authors added to my skepticism about its intended purpose. My nephew, a writer himself, showed me an AI app that was supposed to help in creating characters. Let’s just say I was impressed with how they generated African American people but couldn’t help but feel that some stole real images of them. The impression that I had somehow seen these people before. Other races the app generated were creepy and not accurate representation.

My brother, who wasn’t a creative professional, recommended various AI apps. I initially thought he was being lazy and unaware of the potential harm it could cause to creative fields.

Exploring AI’s Potential

Eventually, I came across a YouTube video featuring a graphic designer using AI to create Creative Briefs. As someone who struggled with marketing, I decided to explore AI’s potential to improve my skills. I found AI marketing apps that promised to assist with social media marketing content and decided to give them a try. To my surprise, I found one that I liked called Predis.ai. They are a company that allows users to create almost ready-to-publish, but completely editable social media content in your brand language. The content they generated was professional and aligned with my business message. I also turned to ChatGPT for Creative Briefs, and the results were impressive. I played around with bios and mood boards and was impressed with what was generated.

The Role of AI in Creativity

It’s crucial to understand that AI won’t replace humans in creative fields anytime soon. After all, who would want to read poetry or a novel written by artificial intelligence? Humans are intricate, unique, and capable of invoking genuine emotions in creative works. AI can be a valuable tool for boosting productivity, but it shouldn’t be seen as a replacement for human creativity.

Conclusion

In conclusion, AI is a tool, not a replacement for human creativity. It can help you streamline your creative processes and improve your workflow, but it should be used as a guiding force. As with any tool, AI can be used for both good and bad purposes. By learning how to harness its potential, creatives can leverage AI to enhance their work, without fearing it will replace the genuine, intricate, and compelling human touch in their creations. So, you be the judge and try it out. Now go create something amazing!
